This time, I will write an article about Maruyama Park.
Please read this if you are considering photo shoots in Kyoto.
There are several places in Kyoto where location photography is permitted, including parks, temples, shrines, and Japanese gardens.
I'm sure there are some customers who are wondering, "Where on earth would I be most satisfied with taking pictures?"
This time, I would like to introduce Maruyama Park area that I recommend.
-What is Maruyama Park-
Maruyama Park is the oldest park in Kyoto City.
The beautiful garden was created by Jihei Ogawa VII.
The garden is also a nationally designated scenic spot and is a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing in spring.
For access, the nearest station is Gion-Shijo Station on the Keihan Line, which is about a 7-minute walk.
-Advantages of location photography around Maruyama Park-
I would like to introduce shooting in this area.
1. The cherry blossoms are beautiful in the spring, the greenery is beautiful in the summer, the leaves turn red in the fall, and you can take your time taking pictures in the winter.
Maruyama Park in spring is beautiful.
Many cherry blossoms are planted in Maruyama Park.
Among them, the gigantic Gion Weeping Cherry Blossoms (Single White Higan Weeping Cherry Blossoms) attract many cherry blossom viewing visitors.
In summer, the vibrant greenery is beautiful.
In autumn, the autumn leaves are spectacular.
In winter, there are fewer tourists and you can enjoy taking pictures at your leisure.
2. Access
It is located relatively close to the center of Kyoto, so access is not bad.
It is also close to Gion Shirakawa, which is popular for pre-photoshoots, so we recommend taking photos there as well.
3. You can take various cuts
Maruyama Park is famous for its cherry blossoms.
In fact, trees such as maples and willows have been planted.
There are also ponds and small waterfalls where you can take various shots.

1. There are many cherry blossom viewing visitors.
As it is a popular cherry blossom spot in Kyoto, there are many cherry blossom viewing visitors.
It gets very crowded during cherry blossom season.
In addition, many open-air stalls will be set up around the cherry blossoms to coincide with the cherry blossom viewing.
2. Crowded during autumn leaves season
It is crowded on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, even during the autumn leaves season.
Even on weekdays, it tends to get crowded in the afternoon.
I think it's relatively easy to take pictures in other seasons.
